Spencer (Troian Bellisario) will want to investigate right away if what Mary (Andrea Parker) claims is true in the upcoming second half of "Pretty Little Liars" season 7.
As per the promo released by Freeform, Spencer will definitely survive the gunshot wound she got from Jenna (Tammin Sursok) and will be back on her feet soon in the final episodes of the series. The fans were aghast when Spencer appeared to have succumbed to her injury during the last finale. Jenna shot her in the chest and Mary's incessant weeping did not help. In the clip, Spencer is shown on a gurney being wheeled to a waiting ambulance. She looks stable after the paramedics administered first aid.
When the show returns in April, Spencer is expected to make a recovery and to check if what Mary said is true. Charlotte's (Vanessa Ray) mother claimed that Spencer was her long-lost daughter. The other girls who witnessed the entire thing could not decide if the older woman was telling the truth or not. As far as they know, Spencer is a Hastings, one of Peter (Nolan North) and Veronica's (Lesley Fera) daughters. It does not make sense that Mary is her mother.
Executive producer I. Marlene King previously revealed that Spencer's upcoming storyline would revolve around the said mystery. If she is indeed Mary's child, it changes everything. Perhaps, Melissa's (Torrey DeVitto) return will shed some light on the subject. She has always treated Spencer differently, as if they were not sisters. Could she possibly know something about Spencer's true identity?
"We will definitely follow through on both of those storylines. We will find out who Charlotte's father is, and we will find out how Spencer came to be with her entire family dynamic. This storyline also originated from the books. In Sara Shepard's original books, Spencer is adopted. Early on, that gave us the idea for this storyline, so the final season will circle back to a lot of Sara's original concepts from the books," the EP teased, according to TV Guide.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7B returns Tuesday, April 18, 2017 on Freeform.
