In the last episode of season 4, "The Final Break", in 2009, Scofield was thought to be dead but there is now a twist. He will be returning in season 5 and the intriguing part is how the writers will come up with a script. There are lots of speculations from the fans as to how the writers will come up with a story that brings the character of Scofield back onto the set.

Directors have likely presumed that "Prison Break" won't be that enticing if Scofield won't be part of season 5. Coming from an article in Melty, some fans think that Michael Scofield was in a coma for the last six years after being electrocuted. They believe that the voltage applied was not strong enough to kill him and additional rumors speculate that it was with the help of Paul Kellerman, the Secret Service agent who changed and provided crucial help to take down The Company. Another possible script according to Star Pulse, would be Michael escaping from a hospital after being cured of his tumor. The least feasible rumored angle of reviving Scofield is faking his death. If writers would just say he didn't die and decide to use Scofield's creativity in manipulating a lot of things to fake his own death, this would probably be the easiest way for the writers to explain how it happened but of course, the art of script writing is more complex.

There could be more credible rumors to come for this series but for now, the fans just have to sit back and wait.
