Set to premiere this year with the exact date yet to be announced, actress Katie Holmes confirmed she's not returning for "Ray Donovan" season 4 while one of "Revenge's" favorite actor, Gabriel Mann, joins the cast.

In an interview on "Live! With Kelly and Michael," Holmes revealed she won't be back to reprise her role for the fourth season of "Ray Donovan." She will, instead, reprise her role as Jackie Kennedy in the mini series "The Kennedy: After Camelot." When asked if she would return if there was a fifth season, she answered "maybe."

On the other hand, Mann will join the cast as Jacob Waller as reported by Variety. He will play a lawyer to the prominent class, where the show's story, revolves around. The site further reports that he will figure in at least three episodes.

The last episodes of the previous season have been intense. The Hollywood Reporter was able to talk to the show's writer and showrunner, David Hollander, who also directed the last episode for season 3. He revealed that he has always wanted the season to end with Ray in "the most vulnerable place he's ever been."

Season 3 ended with Terry almost dying. The purpose of such a storyline, Hollander explained, was to provoke an emotion where Ray "thought he needed redemption for his brother's sake, and he realized he needed it also for his own good."

He also revealed that the next season won't see Terry and Abby in a romantic relationship. As for Brunchy, Hollander envisions him to be a good father but also teases about him being Donovan brother above everything else.

The next season will be set in Los Angeles where new relationships, situations and family dynamics will unfold. He describes season 4 as "emotional, but big and loud and brassy and visually fun."

Here's to the ties that bind. #HappyThanksgiving from the Donovan's! #RayDonovan #Showtime
