'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date: Game to be unveiled at E3 2016?

(Rockstar Games)'Red Dead Redemption' by Rockstar Games is in the hype for a sequel.

"Red Dead Redemption" is undeniably one of the most successful game releases from Rockstar Games, and fans have been looking forward to its sequel for a long time now. While Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive have not confirmed the existence and release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2," there have been various speculations and hints that pop up online which should build up the hype for the game.

According to Take-Two in its latest earnings report, Rockstar has been working hard on "exciting future projects" and details about them will "soon" be revealed. The company did not give additional information about the projects, but considering that the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is next month, fans are hoping that the companies will drop the announcement at the event.

Take-Two didn't specifically mention a game title so it could be anybody's guess what the company is planning to reveal soon. However, most people are betting that it has something to do with "Red Dead Redemption 2."

According to IGN, the other game titles from the developer, "Mafia 3" and "Battleborn," are expected to be out this year and "Borderlands 3" is not ready for showcase just yet, which leaves "Red Dead Redemption's" sequel the likely candidate for an announcement.

On the other hand, there is always the possibility that "Red Dead Redemption 2" won't be mentioned at the upcoming E3 at all. At the same time, it's also likely that the announcement will be related to the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise. Amidst all the speculations, Rockstar and Take-Two have kept their silence on the matter.

Since nothing has been confirmed at this point, fans should just stay tuned and look forward to the E3 event to hear the exciting reveal from Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive. Until then, one can only hope that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will finally be unveiled in June.
