Capcom has a potential masterpiece in its hands as the horror/survival game "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be hitting the stores early next year. Before its launch, it has released more gameplay trailers to shake players to their core.

The first gameplay video shows protagonist Ethan Winters trying to escape the mansion, but then Jack Baker dashes at him with a shovel. Ethan tries to outrun him, shoot him, and even burn him, but nothing seems to work.

The second video is not going to bring any sense of comfort either. Ethan still tries to find his way out, and then she sees Aunt Rhody sitting still on a wheelchair. He decides to go down the basement, where creepy, zombie-like creatures lurk in the dark. He goes back up, and before he knows it, gets ambushed by another axe-wielding foe.

The last video shows that the matriarch of the house is someone who shouldn't be messed around with. She carries a lantern and commands otherworldly insects at will. And in true horror fashion, she ambushes the player just when it looks like everything is clear.

The gameplay videos are just parts of the efforts of Capcom to increase hype for the game. In the recently held PlayStation Experience 2016 in Anaheim, California, it has also launched its latest trailer, showing the extent of horror the players can expect once the game comes out.

To add to that, Capcom has released the final update to the demo dubbed "Midnight." According to Capcom's Social Media Specialist Kellen Haney, the said update will bring the pieces together to make sense of what the players have discovered in the initial "Beginning Hour" demo and the "Twilight" update. "Midnight" will also be containing an optional PS virtual reality (VR) mode, bringing the horror closer to the players.

The horror is so palpable, especially when coupled with the PS VR, so much that players of the demo were freaked out. Their reactions measured the sheer fright one can experience in playing the newest installment to the "Resident Evil" franchise.

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" opens the doors to its creepy mansion by Jan. 24, 2017.
