'Resident Evil 7' release news: game to maintain original 'Resident Evil' elements despite game demo suggesting otherwise

(Facebook/Resident Evil)"Resident Evil 7" will still have the distinct elements of the previous games.

With the release of "Resident Evil 7" demo, many fans jumped into the conclusion that the upcoming game will be nothing more than a ghost story and will be devoid of the presence of zombies, which provided the horror and fun of the previous "Resident Evil" games. However, this rumor was eventually shut down by "Resident Evil 7" director Kōshi Nakanishi as he said that it will not be the case.

"I think you can look at the trailer or the demo and get that impression, but don't worry, we haven't just thrown out 'Resident Evil' as it exists and turned it into a ghost story. It will all make sense in the end," Nakanishi said in a Capcom Unity blog post.

In a separate Q&A event, Nakanishi explained that the upcoming "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," though new, will still maintain the things that helped it etch its name in the electronic gaming world. The director said that gamers know too well that "Resident Evil" games stand on the pillars of fear and horror, exploration of the environment, puzzle-solving elements, resource management, and combat against enemies, and those looking forward to the release of the newest "Resident Evil" game can rest assured that those elements will still be present.

"Those are all in this game, but we wanted to start off with the first two – horror and exploration – and get you experiencing those two pillars up front," Nakanishi said while he added that, just because the other elements are not hinted yet, it doesn't mean that they will no longer be experienced in the game.

Meanwhile, although many gamers have already experienced playing the "Resident Evil" demo, the game teaser has left players with yet-to-be-resolved mysteries, such as the dummy finger, the axe, and the ghost girl. Game Rant opines that "Resident Evil 7" demo is loaded with ambiguous secrets and mysteries that are left to gamers' ability and imagination to unravel once the game is released on Jan. 24, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One.
