The lack of new updates concerning the development of "Rise of the Tomb Raider's" PS4 port may have been troubling to more than a few fans looking forward to the game, though those concerns may not be needed.

Recently, developer Crystal Dynamics provided a bit of assurance, indicating that the PS4 version of the action adventure title has not been forgotten, albeit in a somewhat unconventional way.

The latest update related to the game came after one of the administrators of the Square Enix forums posed a direct question to Crystal Dynamics, asking about the status of "Rise of the Tomb Raider's" PS4 port.

Crystal Dynamics provided a simple reply to the query, reconfirming that the game is still indeed on its way and that it is still on track to be released during the 2016 holiday season.

Unfortunately, the game's developer did not supply a specific release date, so it's still tough to tell exactly when PS4 players will finally be able to try out this highly anticipated title.

For what it's worth the Xbox One port of the game was released in November of last year, so that could be a possible target window for the developers.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" has introduced quite a few innovations to the series that PS4 players can look forward to trying out soon.

Some of these notable features include an environment that will factor more into how players approach the game as they may need to plan ahead in order to survive harsh winter nights and other settings that will be difficult to navigate.
