'Rizzoli & Isles' season 6 episode 2 spoilers: Jane and Maura investigate a fisherman's death and delve into the world of competitive bass-fishing

(TNT)

"Rizzoli & Isles" premiered a spectacular episode for season six that saw Frankie's name mired in controversy. He was the main suspect in a platform killing. Jane and Maura scrambled to clear his name when it became evident that something else was at play. Now the dynamic duo will tackle the world of competitive bass-fishing.

Spoilers Guide has revealed details about the upcoming episode, which will see the police woman and scientist investigate the death of a fisherman. But the murdered man is no ordinary fisherman because he competes in the bass-fishing tournament where the stakes are pretty high.

Submerged in the fisherman's cutthroat world, Jane and Maura search for clues in order to catch the killer. But nothing is as easy as it seems with the duo facing various hurdles during the investigation. The case looks like a typical Jane-Maura one. The promotional clip shows Maura Isles announcing that the fisherman has been killed by someone on the shore while standing atop a boat.

Meanwhile, Jane's brother Frankie is paying the price for losing a bet. Frankie certainly provides a dash of humor in the police procedural drama. Fans can also expect ample drama and action this season with various new plotlines beginning to emerge as the show progresses.

A particularly intriguing plotline will be the appearance of Isles' adoptive father. TVLine reports that actor David Ogden Stiers will play Arthur, Maura Isles' adoptive father. This will be the first time that fans will see her father making an appearance in the TNT drama series.

Previously, John Doman and Sharon Lawrence had appeared on "Rizzoli & Isles" as Maura's biological parents. Her adoptive mother, Constance, had also guest-starred in one of the show's episodes.

Arthur will guest-star in episode eight. His appearance is sure to bring some drama in Maura's life and ruffle some feathers. Till then, catch the investigative duo doing their best to solve cases on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on TNT.
