Hundreds of fans, friends, and family members of the late Robin Williams gathered for the actor's memorial service six weeks after the actor's death.

Williams passed away on August 11 and was found dead inside his apartment by his assistant. Williams suffered an intense case of depression and was at the early stages of Parkinson's Disease when he took his own life.

Many of the actor's fans and close friends expressed their grief through various social media outlets, with some even crafting video tributes dedicated to the colorful and inspiring life of the actor.

"It was a true celebration from beginning to end. It was emotional, but it was also filled with incredible laughter," a source who attended the memorial service said, as reported by NY Daily News.

Williams' wife, Susan Schneider, daughter Zelda and son Cody, all attended the funeral. Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, and Bonnie Hunt spoke during the ceremony, while musical legend Stevie Wonder sang.

"Whoopi told an amazing anecdote about when Billy, Robin and she went to Washington D.C. to meet Ted Kennedy. It was something about Robin saying, 'Okay, if Ted says he'll drive, let's regroup,'" the source went on.

"Whoopi could barely get through it she was laughing so hard," the source added in the NY Daily News report.

Meanwhile, Williams' daughter Zelda Williams, used her Twitter account to express her gratitude toward those who have shown her support.

"I just want to say thank you for all the stories and letters I've been receiving, especially from those who've also lost loved ones," Zelda Williams tweeted.

"I don't come online often, but reading of others who have death with this loss & gone on to live happy, full lives is helpful. Truly," Williams' daughter continued.
