"Rocket Leauge," the multiplayer car soccer game, has just reached a milestone in the Xbox One. The game, which was launched in the platform last Feb. 17, has become a hit with Xbox One users. This is seen through a tweet by developer Psyonix saying that the game has already reached one million players on Xbox One.

"Rocket Leauge" is the game that was labelled by the Wall Street Journal as the surprise video game hit of 2015. The game also won in The Game Awards 2015, wherein the studio won the award for best indie game and best sports game of 2015. What makes this game really stand out is the fact that the studio, comprised of a group of 10, made a game that didn't use or have the marketing behind it. They were just in the right place at the right time. The game initially was made with less than $2 million and now, it has generated over $50 million.

Dave Hagewood, the studio's founder and chief, said (via Wall Street Journal), "We paid the bills by working on some of the biggest games in the industry." These games include EA's "Mass Effect 3" and Microsoft's "Gears of War."

In a Twitch interview with Jeremy Dunham, the Marketing VP of the studio, he revealed that the game has already generated $70 million in revenue since the launch which means an additional $20 million was made with the Xbox One release. This streamline of success made the studio decide to work on a retail version of the game.

In related news, the studio is trying to get the licence to put KITT from "Knight Rider" into the game to be added to their DLC, according to the Executive Vice President at Comcast, Bill Kispert. Currently, the game has the licence to use the DeLorean in "Back to the Future" and is seen to be a huge hit with fans playing the game.
