Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro news, specs: Rumored Pro version spotted on GFXBench sporting smaller screen than original Galaxy A9 (2016)

(Samsung)Samsung Galaxy A9 to get a Pro variant

Smartphone variants have traditionally sported different kind of screen sizes, and the Premium versions have always been the largest one in the flagships. However, it appears like this is not going to be the case for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro. According to the recent GFXBench listing, the Pro iteration of the device is set to come out with a smaller screen, specifically 5.5 inches.

This might come as a surprise most especially because the original Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) is being expected to be released with a massive screen of 6 inches. With that in mind, some tech enthusiasts are now wondering why the South Korean-based manufacturer has decided to launch a smaller Premium or Pro variant.

Furthermore, the Galaxy A9 Pro is expected to sport a 1080p display resolution, pretty much the same as the original version.

In terms of power, the device is going to run on Qualcomm's Cortex-A72 octa-core chipset, which according to GSM Arena, sounds like a Snapdragon 652. In addition, it will come with an integrated graphic processing unit Adreno 510.

As listed on the benchmark result, its CPU is expected to be backed up by 3.5 GB of RAM, which can be rounded off to 4 GB, and 25 GB of internal memory storage capacity. As for its camera, the Pro version is going to be equipped with a 15 MP lens for its main snapper that can be located at the back, and a 7 MP front-facing snapper.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro is expected to come out in the coming weeks, possibly even during the annual Mobile World Congress.

Unfortunately, though, there is still no news whether these are the accurate specifications and release date of the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, and if there really is such a device. So for now, it is highly advisable to take this with a pinch of salt, and consider it as a mere speculation until proven otherwise.
