Samsung Galaxy C7 release news: device to be updated with a fingerprint sensor from Egis

Another smartphone from the South Korean tech vendor Samsung is getting quite the hype with its impressive features that could go up against other top end brands. Announced a couple of months ago and rolled out last June, the Samsung Galaxy C7's got several features that won't go unnoticed by would-be users who are looking for affordable yet quality handsets. Reports now suggest that the recently released smartphone will have an update in the form of a fingerprint sensor.

It is said that Samsung has availed of the services of security software developer Egis Technology which is reported to have dished out their latest fingerprint sensor dubbed as the ET320. The newest security component from Egis will be eventually lodged into the Samsung Galaxy C7 for an enhanced security feature. Moreover, Egis Technology's chairman and chief executive officer Steve Ro added that this is their second time working with Samsung for such a project.

Furthermore, Ro explained that doing such a project with the South Korean company strengthens their spot in the market as the frontrunner in manufacturing biometric security components. He added that they intend to have a long-term partnership with Samsung and carry on in developing more advanced security components for the brand and their roster of clients.

Meanwhile, the new Samsung Galaxy C7 has a 5.7-inch touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 high-definition display. The phone is also equipped with a 16-megapixel back and an 8-megapixel front shooter with the former having a dual-LED flash, autofocus, face detection, and touch focus features. It's also preloaded with an Android Marshmallow (version 6.0.1) operating system and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The Galaxy C7 is also fused with a decent 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) with a 32 and 64 GB internal memory storage for the phone's two variants which can also be expanded with a microSD card.
