Just a few months after releasing the Galaxy J1 (SM-J100), Samsung is now rumored to be already working on developing its next iteration, the Galaxy J1 SM-J110, or Galaxy J1 Pop. Apart from the Galaxy J1 Pop in Samsung's new J-series devices, the J5 and J7 have also been certified for sale in China by TENAA.

Samsung's Galaxy J1 is one of the cheapest Android smartphones in the market, as the Korean mobile maker has bought out the device with the lowest specs to ensure that its price remains low. Samsung had announced the Galaxy J1 back in January and released it a month later in February. The Galaxy J1 features a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The smartphone is powered by a low-end 1.2GHz dual-core Spreadtrum processor, paired with 512MB of RAM, while the LTE version comes with 768 MB of RAM. The Galaxy J1 runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface on top. The device offers 4GB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The Samsung Galaxy J1 sports a 5MP rear-facing camera along with a 2MP front-facing camera, and packs an 1850 mAh battery. The device also offers 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS, and FM Radio.

It now appears that the Galaxy J1 has done well in the market, which has encouraged Samsung to launch a sequel or a slightly improved version of. There are no details presently available about the Samsung Galaxy J1 Pop and its specifications are not yet known, but can be expected to come with additional memory and a higher performance processor, while running Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Samsung Galaxy J1 Pop will reportedly be launched in Brazil, Russia and India initially, followed by a global rollout.
