Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leak, rumored specs and release date: leaked photos show prototype

(Reuters)

Recently, a batch of leaked photos of the much awaited fifth iteration in the Galaxy Note series, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, have been circulating online. The leaked images show an app of AT&T in the homescreen, which suggests that the device might arrive to the U.S. carrier sometime this year.

According to a report by GSM Arena, it seems like one of the variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will come in the color, gold. In addition, the images appear to shed more light on the rumored S Pen and ejection. However, it was pointed out by GSM Arena that instead of having auto-eject, consumers might have to use their finger nails to use the pen.

As for the rumored specifications of the device, Android Central reported that the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come with a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. The device, as mentioned by the website is going to be powered by Samsung's CPU Exynos 7422 SoC processor. The Note 5's CPU is going to be backed up by, as rumor suggests, 4GB of RAM.

The device will come equipped with a 16MP main or rear camera and speculations point toward the device having a 4,100 mAh battery.

Furthermore, GSM Arena reported that rumors about the release date, which are currently circulating, say that fans can expect the device to launch sometime next month, possibly around mid-August.

And many has speculated that not only will the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 be launched, but the next iteration of the S6 Edge, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, as well.

However, Samsung has yet to confirm these speculations, so, as always, it is best to take these rumors with a pinch of salt and wait for the official announcement of Samsung regarding the Galaxy Note 5's specs and release date.
