Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release date: rumored camera specs for new phablet

(Samsung)The follow-up to the Galaxy Note 5 (shown), the Galaxy Note 7, will be unveiled August 2.

The official debut of Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 is just a few days away, and now, the latest rumors are giving people more specific details related to the new phablet.

The latest leak comes from the tracking web site Zauba, as new listings on the site seem to reveal exactly what kinds of cameras the Note 7 will have.

Numerous listings that can be seen over on the website seem to indicate that the phablet will possess both a 12-megapixel rear camera as well as one up front that provides five megapixels.

Beyond just simply providing more specific details related to the Note 7, the contents of the Zauba listings may also be hinting at some of the special features of these cameras.

As Phone Arena noted, if the Galaxy Note 7 winds up having the same rear camera as the one featured by the Galaxy S7, then that could mean that the new phablet's primary shooter will also be able to work well even under low-light conditions.

Earlier rumors have also hinted at some of the other possible specs and features of the new Samsung phablet.

For instance, an earlier report from ET News revealed that the Note 7 may feature a new Y-OCTA display. Samsung reportedly opting to use this type of display will apparently help them produce thinner and lighter devices, and people may see the results for themselves once the new phablet is officially revealed.

The Note 7 is also expected to come with an additional security feature in the form of an iris scanner, along with plenty of other internal and external upgrades that people will be able to learn more about very soon.

Samsung has previously announced that they will unveil the Galaxy Note 7 during their upcoming Unpacked event that is set to take place in New York on Aug. 2, so folks who want to see what all the buzz is about will want to make sure that they are ready for that day.
