As the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain nears, so does the anticipation for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Though there still isn't official word from Samsung, various reports hint that the company is going to use this huge event to announce the arrival of its latest smartphone.

Samsung has been known to launch a new phone during these types of events. And it makes a lot of sense. And if the company does announce the new Galaxy phone, it won't be too long before customers see the new phone in the stores. The release date usually happens a couple of weeks after the announcement.

The possibility of the launch is huge especially since reports say basically the same thing. A Korean publication called ETNews hints that the release will come early this year. Another publication, Daum, gives a more specific date, which is March. But there is still a chance that it happens in May.

It's highly possible that some key industry players have already glimpsed the much anticipated phone. According to SamMobile, Samsung held closed-door meetings at the CES 2015 where it showed the S6. One other Korean media said that production will start in February, further fueling hopes that the S6 is coming to the market sooner rather than later.

So how will it look?

Rumors say that the Galaxy S6 will veer away from the plastic design, similar to the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4. It could also sport an all-metal design. It's still unsure whether it will be water resistant like the S5 but it will definitely have a replaceable battery and Micro SD support.

One blog hints that the S6 will sport an aluminium chassis. The screen resolution will be 2560 x 1440 and the display could increase to 5.5 inches.

It may also have a 16-20 MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, Exynos 64-bit processor and a Quad HD display.
