Last month, there were a couple of rumors claiming that Samsung was testing the Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890 processors on their upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 phone. However, a recent leak has pointed out that the company might use both processors for their upcoming handset, with one variant to be sold in the United States and China while the other for the international market.

According to Reuters, "unnamed industry sources" have claimed that the processor from Qualcomm, the much awaited Snapdragon 820, as well as Samsung's in-house CPU, the Exynos 8890, are going to be used on the Samsung Galaxy S7.

As explained on Reuters, a report from South Korea's Electronic Times suggests that the S7 equipped with the Snapdragon 820 is set to be sold in the United States and China next year, and for the international variant, or other markets as how the report puts it, will come with the Exynos 8890 CPU.

The source has tried to contact Samsung for a comment on this big rumor but a spokeswoman from the manufacturer did not release any statement or comment as "the firm does not comment on rumors or speculation."

Since it's still too early to jump into conclusions, fans are advised to take this one with a pinch of salt for now considering that Samsung has recently used their in-house processor for their phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus and S6 Edge Plus, currently running on Exynos 7420.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to be released early next year, possibly by March, although there are also other rumors that point out a much earlier release date, as said on the report from Tech Radar.
