Samsung and Sony are two of the biggest names in the mobile industry, and soon, their latest smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and the Xperia X respectively, will be going head to head in the marketplace.

Both smartphones bring a lot to the table, but they also possess certain special features that may make them more appealing to specific users. Now is the time to learn about them.

The two phones also have particular aspects that are worth comparing and contrasting with each other.

First off are the cameras, and both units can offer shooters that stand out for specific reasons.

When it comes to the Galaxy S7's cameras, people can have access to a 5-megapixel front camera as well as to a 12-megapixel rear shooter. But there's more to the cameras than that, particularly when it comes to the one at the back.

As Samsung has touted, the rear camera features dual pixel technology along with an autofocus that can enable users to consistently capture highly detailed images even in low-light situations.

As for the Xperia X's cameras, the smartphone offers both a 13-megapixel front camera and one at the back that provides 23 megapixels. But those numbers again don't tell the whole story.

Similar to Samsung's latest smartphone, the newest one from Sony is also said to excel at taking low-light photos. The difference is that it's the front-facing camera, equipped with low-light sensors, that works ideally for these situations, according to Sony.

Both the Galaxy S7 and the Xperia X also boast of having long-lasting batteries that can be recharged quickly, with the former being able to utilize wireless charging, and the latter providing access to the Quick Charger UCH10 that can also allow for speedy battery replenishment.

The two phones also provide unique features of their own, such as the S7's Samsung Pay that can be helpful to frequent shoppers, and the Xperia X's PS4 Remote Play that allows gamers to keep on going even when the TV is unavailable.

Both the Galaxy S7 and the Xperia X have their own distinct set of functions that can make them uniquely appealing, and it's now up to the consumer to decide which one is the better choice.
