Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 vs. Nexus 9: Tab A9.7's specs and design beat the Nexus 9
Samsung has been releasing a number of budget phablets this year providing customers looking to save money with a wide range of options. Here is how the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 compares to the Nexus 9.
Design
There are very little premium elements when it comes to the build of the Galaxy Tab A 9.7. The device is made entirely of plastic though it does have slight sheen which makes it easy on the eye. As for the Nexus 9, it also has a plastic build but it comes with a metal band with a brushed finish that runs along its rim. This design not only allows for the device to be easily held but also gives off an understated sense of luxury.
Display
The display on the Nexus 9 is smaller. It comes with an IPS LCD screen measuring 8.9 inches with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and a density of 281 pixels per inch. The Galaxy Tab A 9.7, on the other hand, has a TFT screen measuring 9.7 inches with a resolution of 768 x 1024 pixels and a density of 132 pixels per inch.
Specs
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has enough processing power to take on the Nexus 9 and it comes with a CPU with four cores clocked at 1.2 GHz. As for the Nexus 9 it has an Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, along with a Denver CPU with two cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and a Kepler DX1 GPU.
Memory
There is a card slot on the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 which can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. The Nexus 9, unfotunately, does not have a slot. As for RAM, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 either comes with 1.5 GB or 2 GB RAM while the Nexus 9 has 2 GB.
Price
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is priced at $279 on Amazon while the Nexus 9 has a price tag of $400.
