The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will soon be getting a successor, if rumors are anything to go by. It was even reported that a new iteration will be unveiled in September.

It's been almost a year since Samsung introduced Galaxy Tab S2 and there are fans who have been clamoring for the next generation tablet. Rumors about Samsung planning to release the Galaxy Tab S3 are becoming rampant. These started when Russian journalist Eldar Murtazin, posted on Twitter that this new tablet will be introduced on Sept. 1.

According to GSMArena, Murtazin had been right and wrong with his predictions and leaks, so it's best for readers to take this report with a pinch of salt. Since Murtazin didn't mention his source, fans should also hold off on their excitement.

As for what Galaxy Tab S3 may look like, tipster @evleaks has an idea, based on leaked images coming from an anonymous source. It looks like that Tab S3 has the same look as Tab S2, with a slight difference found at the back of the device.

As for the specs, it was rumored that the tablet may come in two variants – one with a 9.7-inch display and the other with an 8-inch screen size. The tablet is believed to be arriving with the latest Android Marshmallow operating system. It will carry 3 GB of RAM coupled with a 32 GB storage capacity and an 8-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear and front cameras, respectively. The device will reportedly run on a Snapdragon 652 chipset. Both variants are expected to have a 2048-pixel screen resolution. The smaller tablet is rumored to have a 4,000 mAh battery unit but the larger variant's battery power remains unknown.

Meanwhile, SamMobile doesn't think that the Tab S3 will be arriving in September. The publication noted that it's more likely that Samsung will introduce Gear S3 smartwatch by then. There's no way of knowing for now since Samsung hasn't confirmed anything yet, so fans will just have to watch out for more updates.
