Samsung Galaxy View rumors suggest a very big tablet; device may be revealed next month

(Samsung)Samsung plans to add to its tablets like the Galaxy Note Pro with Galaxy View

Even before Samsung went to the IFA 2015 to present the Galaxy Gear S2 to the world, there were rumors that the South Korean manufacturer has a huge 18-inch tablet in the works. And as their presentation in Berlin drew to a close, there was a segment devoted to a mysterious new tablet with the name, "Galaxy View."

In the teaser, Samsung did not reveal much about the tablet, however, the segment was along the lines of the clip it released for the Galaxy Gear S2, when the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy Note 5 were revealed in August. Engadget states that the company made it clear that size would be the differentiating factor of the device and it even encouraged viewers to "think big" when it came to the tablet.

As for the other details revealed in the teaser video, which lasted for about 20 seconds, it revolved around the device having a kickstand. This could indicate that the upcoming tablet will function like a tablet/laptop and will compete against the Surface Pro 3 and possibly, the iPad Pro, which many expect to be unveiled by Apple next week.

There were others were skeptical about the presence of the kickstand, however, there were also some who pointed out that a case for the device was featured and it came with a kickstand.

Samsung said that the tablet will be bringing a "new dimension of entertainment," but it did not elaborate any further. However, as soon as the teaser for the tablet surfaced, many were quick to link it to the previous rumor about Samsung developing a huge 18.4-inch device. That particular rumor, however, wasn't really credible as it contained very little details about the device. It only descibed some of its specs and size.

Regardless of what rumors suggest, it appears that the upcoming device will focus on the entertainment factor and PC Mag states that it could be a small TV in the form of a tablet.
