The explosive finale episode of ABC's "Scandal" season 3 aired tonight.

Minutes into the finale episode, a bomb detonated at Senator Hightower's funeral, and the rest of the episode did not cease to shock viewers. President Fitz, including Sally, managed to escape the church just in time and most were safe after the explosion.

Scandal season 3 episode 18  titled "The Price of Free and Fair Elections" saw candidates stop at nothing on Election Day. However, toward the end of the episode, President Fitz comes out as the winner, but Olivia Pope leaves D.C. with Jake.

The finale episode of "Scandal" season 3 ended with multiple cliffhangers, which will resume when ABC returns with season 4.

The network has yet to officially announce the renewal of the hit TV show, but the show is expected to be renewed without a doubt.

Scandal season 3 was cut short to just 18 episodes due to Kerry Washington's real-life pregnancy.

According to the release of new "Scandal" seasons, season 4  will most likely air in 2015.

The first season of "Scandal" premiered in 2012, and the second season in 2013. The third season premiered in 2014, and the TV show is well on track to premiere  in 2015.
