'Sense8' season 2 premiere: First episode to be released in December

(Facebook / Sense8)"Sense8" is about eight people from different parts of the world who are mentally and emotionally connected.

Filming for "Sense8" season 2 is underway, and actress Jamie Clayton confirmed that the series will premiere on Christmas.

"Sense8" season 2 was aiming for a June release, and fans have become worried that announcement has not been made as the month nears. On Apr. 27, Clayton took to social media to let her followers know the good news. A fan from Venezuela asked her for the release date, to which she twitted, "Ep1 at Christmas! The rest… 2017!"

Another fan asked for further clarification and she replied that only episode 1 will be released on Christmas and the rest of the episodes will be released all at once in 2017.

The series is about eight individuals scattered all over the world who found out they are mentally and emotionally linked. While trying to figure out their newly found trait, they are guided by another sensate who protects them from a sensate who wants them killed.

While living separately, they are able to access and use each other's skills that help them in surviving. The first season was successful in introducing the individual characters to the viewers. It has also given audiences a glimpse of what a sensate is and leaves so much more to explore for the next season and probably some more to come.

The characters barely met each other when the season ended and their scenes together are often that of a vision of each other or a split screen showing their parallel lives. In season 2, the sensates are expected to get together and there are reportedly eight locations set. This may be one of the reasons why release date had to be pushed for half a year.

Filming recently got into another bump when one of the actors was replaced. While the previous actor has already filmed scenes, it is not known yet if a reshoot will happen.

"Sense8" is created, written, and produced by Lilly and Lana Wachowski for Netflix.
