'Sister Wives' season 8 canceled or renewed? Kody Brown to take in more wives?

(Sister Wives / Facebook)A release date for "Sister Wives" season 8 is yet to be revealed.

"Sister Wives" season 7 recently ended with some conflict as Meri's catfish controversy was discussed in the series. However, the controversy does not end there for the polygamous family, as the TLC series will yet again feature the Browns in new episodes for season 8.

Reports have been circulating that Kody Brown will bring in two new wives who will be part of the new season. However, Kody's decision to have new and younger spouses reportedly didn't please the network, which led to rumors about the cancellation of the series.

The two new wives who have been rumored to be part of season 8 are said to be much younger than the four current ones. Kody reportedly wanted to have younger ones because it is said that he feels a lack of support coming from his Meri, Janelle, Robyn and Christine. There was even a previous report that mentioned that the patriarch intends to divorce the others while welcoming new ones as a way of getting back at them for not giving the support he deserves. It is said that Kody sees potential in his step-niece Mindy and a friend of the family, Amanda. In addition to this, Meri's catfish scandal was rumored to be one of the reasons why the show will be canceled soon.

Blasting News, on the other hand, mentioned in its recent report that the show won't be seeing a cancellation. All members of the Brown family recently attended a TLC event and this suggests that the sister wives and their husband could be back for another season. In addition, "Sister Wives" belongs to the top three TLC shows, so cancellation rumors are not true.

It remains to be seen if the rumors about having more wives for Kody are true. Also, TLC has yet to make an official announcement regarding the renewal or cancellation of the series so fans will just have to wait for more updates.
