After Nicole Beharie left "Sleepy Hollow," fans wondered how Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) would do without his partner, Abbie Mills. And based on a new photo from season 4, it looks like he's going to do just fine — especially with a new partner, Diana Thomas (Janina Gavankar).

TVLine exclusively obtained the photo, which sees Ichabod and Diana presumably on duty as they stand beside each other, staring at a pile of old books. The publication further notes that the still comes from a scene featured in the premiere episode of the fourth season.

It is widely known that Beharie's Abbie Mills was killed off in the previous season due to the actress' decision to exit the show. The series will continue on with a new female lead, though, in addition to changing settings. Ichabod will now take his adventures to Washington, D.C., where he will meet Diana. He will begin to work with her and a few other researchers. 

It has also been reported that the upcoming season will be going back to its roots, primarily putting the spotlight on the horror and comedy aspects of the series. The show's other cast members — Nikki Reed, Jessica Camacho, and Lance Gross — will not be reprising their roles in the new season. Instead, "Sleepy Hollow" has signed on Jerry MacKinnon, Rachel Melvin, Jeremy Davies, and Oona Yaffe. 

And because the recent shake-up in cast members may be alarming, it comes as comforting news that another familiar face will also return. John Noble, who played Henry Parrish/Jeremy Crane in earlier seasons, is expected to come back for the third. This much was revealed when he showed up in a video presented at the recently concluded New York Comic-Con.

Mison was also present at the NYCC, where he spoke to TVLine. The actor revealed that the Ichabod that viewers will see in season 4 will still be quite similar despite the absence of his partner. 

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will premiere in early 2017.
