FX has given the 'Sons of Anarchy' Season 7 premiere a July 9 release date. A 20-second video called "Hell Awaits" shows Jax, Charlie Hunnam's character, riding alone at night.

Jax face changes from himself to being a skull, and vice versa, triggering questions among show followers whether Jax is the Reaper, a dying character, or perhaps both.

However, if the hood he wears is to be considered as well, he does eerily look like the Grim Reaper.

With Tara's death in Season 6, the Reaper can come through this time, but the trailer soundtrack and the tone of the violence that comes with it, makes it more intriguing.

The Sons of Anarchy premiere of Season 7 is slated for September.

The upcoming season is said to begin in the weeks leading up to Tara's death. It will feature a flashback of Gemma killing Tara and how Jax will react upon learning his mother killed his wife.

Followers of the crime drama are eagerly waiting to see the ways Gemma tries to hide her guilt.

Series creator Kurt Sutter hinted at an appearance of a new character on Twitter. He tweeted that he was listening to Manson's new cool, creepy and potent songs; and that the artist will make an appearance in Season 7 as the "guy riding the dragon."

Marilyn Manson will appear on FX's Sons of Anarchy cast during the upcoming season as a "heroin addict," which is what "riding the dragon" refers to in Sutter's tweet. The singer's music has been used in the previous seasons of the series.

The Sons of Anarchy cast will be back in September with Billy Brown, Emilio River, Jimmy Smits and Robert Patrick. Also expected to be in the series with limited appearances are Kim Dickens and C. C. H. Pounder.
