At the Berlin IFA event earlier this month Sony introduced Xperia Z3, their latest flagship smartphone, built to succeed the Z1 and Z2 handsets. However, there is no confirmation yet as to the Sony Xperia Z3 release date for US and Europe.

Air Herald reports that Sony Xperia Z3 will first be released in October in Singapore and other Asian countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, with a US release date to follow shortly thereafter.

Priced at $798, the handset will go on sale on Oct. 4 in Singapore.

It is likely that Sony will make Xperia Z3 available in the U.S. just in time for the holiday season, as the American market plays a big role in the overall sales performance of the company's mobile business.

US carrier T-Mobile has confirmed that the handset will be available this coming fall:

"T-Mobile is lining up a killer hardware portfolio for fall with a selection that gives customers every opportunity to find the perfect device. That's why today, T-Mobile announced that Sony's Xperia Z3 will be joining the Un-carrier's selection of high-end smartphones, available online and in participating T-Mobile stores, this fall," according to the carrier's official press release.

Forbes' Ewan Spence thinks that Sony has got it right this time with the Xperia Z3 improving of the company's vision of a perfect smartphone.

"Sony's slow and steady improvements to its smartphone range is clear, and for those jumping to Sony for the first time, the Z3 is a far easier sell. It's a high-specced Android handset, and the waterproofing alone is a strong reason to recommend the device," Spence wrote.

The Sony Xperia Z3 specs sport a 5.2-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 display, weighs 152 grams and is 7.3 mm thin.

It also boasts other killer specs such as 20.7 MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, 2.2 MP front-facing camera, waterproof and dust tight certifications (IP65 and IP68), and is powered by a Snapdragon 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Quad-core.

The phone will be available in four colors: White, Black, Green and Copper.
