'South Park' season 20 premiere news: Creators tease Reality's comeback

"South Park" is an animated comedy series that has managed to stay on the air for about 2 decades. With season 20 coming up soon, many fans have been wondering what the creators have in store. And it looks like they've been hard at work as it has been revealed that the character Reality may be coming back.

If fans can recall, Reality was the personification of the very same idea on the show. As a man, Reality was dressed in a dark coat and a top hat to match. He sported a devious-looking mustache and some sort of mask or glasses. He made his big debut in the fifth episode of season 19, titled "Safe Space," wherein he crashed an anti-shaming fundraiser in order to point out the hypocrisy of being politically correct. He seemingly died in the same episode when he was hung publicly.

His striking, albeit brief, appearance seems to have stuck with creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, though — so much so that they have plans on bringing the character back. In an interview with Mashable, the two revealed that Reality's comeback "will blow people's minds."

Even though the character was not met with a lot of positive feedback from fans, Parker pointed out that their reactions only motivate them to do more with the character. Stone revealed, though, that there are plans for Reality in season 20. But Parker followed up and did not offer an assurance. "Unless we decide not to do it," he said.

While the return of Reality is guaranteed to shake things up in season 20 — judging by the way he had such a huge impact on the previous season — fans are also excited to see what the story arc will involve. However, Parker and Stone did not reveal anything else about what they have planned for the upcoming season.

Fans will have to wait and see when "South Park" season 20 premieres in September.
