It's been almost two decades since "South Park" first premiered on television and it's still widely popular today. The animated series boasts numerous awards, including five Primetime Emmy Awards. First debuted in 1997, "South Park" is now known for its satirical take on current events and frequently used toilet humor.

With season 20 slowly approaching, avid fans eagerly await for more information, even if it's just the smallest piece of news, on what's in store for the show's viewers.

The upcoming season will reportedly still follow the same format that it has adopted with the previous ones, consisting only of 10 episodes each, airing one per week. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, now household names, have laid out the condition of making seasons shorter and airing them in the fall in order to continue with the hit animated sitcom. The two creative minds are, after all, quite busy.

Thankfully, "South Park" has also been renewed all through season 23, which comes as very good news to fans. Future seasons, like more recent ones, will also consist of only 10 episodes.

Season 20 will most likely see PC Principal still in charge, after revealing that he will stay on as the school principal in the previous season's finale episode. The upcoming season will probably deal with Mr. Garrison and Caitlyn Jenner's run for office as the finale episode also showed the two preparing for elections as they run side by side. The episode ended with PC Principal announcing that they will try to be more politically correct, which, if true, may be difficult for both the students and writers of "South Park."

In related news, the show's blog revealed that the first ever episode of "South Park" was animated by hand, without the use of special software or programs, and took more than 3 months to finish. Although they do use a program to finish animations now, they did also reveal that they've been using the same construction paper textures, which are then scanned into a computer, since the show began.
