'Star Wars 7' cast reveal: Lucky fan gets to be included in filming

DC Barns from Denver will be the envy of Star Wars fans across the globe, after he won a contest by 'Force for Change Charity,' which allowed him to be part of the upcoming 'Star Wars: Episode 7' cast.

Along with millions of fans, DC Barns paid a contest entry-slash-charity donation of $10 to join the competition.

After the production team has announced his victory, Barns will be flown to the United Kingdom for a costume fitting and to prepare him for his role in the J.J. Abrams-directed movie, set to be released in 2015.

"This, this is my new favourite Star Wars moment!" said an ecstatic Barns.

Barns first saw the Star Wars movie in 1977 when he was aged 5, and his love for the sci-fi franchise never ceased throughout the years.

The contest has raised more than $5 million for Unicef, and J.J. Abrams posted a photo on Twitter using the Bad Robots account, thanking everyone who took the time to participate.

"Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to Star Wars' Force for Change! Over five million dollars were raised to help Unicef innovation labs! We are all so grateful. DC Barns, see you on set!" the director wrote on a cardboard sign held by a robot.

Barns will join the already stellar cast of Star Wars 7 that includes Harrison Ford, Gwendolyn Christie, Andy Serkis and Carrie Fisher.
