One of the most coveted pieces of content players are looking to get for "Star Wars Battlefront" is the previously announced "Rogue One: X-Wing" virtual reality (VR) mission, and it looks as though this particular downloadable could be released pretty soon.

As of now, all that developers have revealed about the "X-Wing" VR mission's release date is that it is currently set for the upcoming holiday season. Nothing has been specified beyond that, but there may be something outside of the game that could be offering a strong hint for when the VR mission may be released.

Since the name of the downloadable itself seems to hint that it is related in some way to the upcoming film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," perhaps developers could be targeting a release date for the VR mission that falls right around when the movie may also hit theaters.

Gotta Be Mobile has hinted that this could be the plan for the upcoming "Rogue One: Scarif" DLC pack – another downloadable that seemingly has ties to the new movie – and if that is the case, then both add-ons may just be released at the same time.

With "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" set to make its way to theaters in December, "Star Wars Battlefront" players may also want to keep an eye out for new updates around that time, so that they don't miss out on any potential announcements related to the "Scarif" DLC pack or to the "X-Wing" VR mission.

The "X-Wing" VR mission will be made available for free, though of course players will need to have a PS4 and the PlayStation VR in order to play through it.

It's still unclear just how much content will be packed into this particular downloadable, though many fans will likely just be happy to have the opportunity to finally hop into an X-Wing and zoom through space.
