The 'Star Wars: Episode 7' release date is scheduled for Dec. 18, 2015, but speculations and reports on the cast and plot are already buzzing on the Internet.

Fans have waited more than a decade for a follow-up to the 2003 mega hit 'Star Wars: Episode 6 Return of the Jedi.'

The 'Star Wars: Episode 7' plot is set 30 years after the events in Return of the Jedi.

Almost all the original cast will return for the seventh installment, but the producers are giving very little facts away to stir excitement among its eagerly waiting fans.

A hint of the possible home of one of the characters (Kira) was posted by Making Star Wars blogsite – a wreckage of years of interstellar combat.

Back in June, Star Wars announced the addition of two of today's big talents – Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie and Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o.

"I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII," said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. She continued, "It's thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."

The two joins the already stellar 'Star Wars: Episode 7' cast, that includes: Mark Hamill who will play Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Leia), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac.

At the end of 2013, Lucasfilm and Walt Disney launched an open casting for young hopefuls to fill the roles on the movie's cast.

Two actors have been selected from the open call: American-born Glasgow-based actress Crystal Clarke and British actor Pip Andersen.

The public announcement of the initial cast was made last April 29 and the cameras started to roll last May.

Star Wars: Episode 7 is being directed by J.J. Abrams, the director of the last two Star Trek blockbusters, 'Super 8' and 'Mission Impossible III.'

The first Star Wars film was released in 1976, making Star Wars: Episode 7 a celebratory salvo in advance of the the franchise's 30th anniversary.
