The Force is alive and well, it seems, as "Star Wars" is back and set to make a huge impact in the next few years. Aside from the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie, there are also upcoming video games, mobile games and new merchandise for the fans of the "Star Wars" universe.

EA announced during the 2015 E3 earlier this year, that they would be releasing a mobile game, "Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes." Since the initial announcement last June, not much else has been released, until now.

The "Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes" official trailer was finally revealed and gave fans a quick look into how the game is played.

The game's executive producer, John Salera, also spoke to IGN to give an in depth look at the gameplay.

The objective of the game is to build a squad that is comprised of iconic "Star Wars" characters. Initially, players are given a few playable characters to choose from. As they progress through the game, more characters will be unlocked. Each character has their own unique abilities and skills, which can also be upgraded through various modes and activities.

The game doesn't exist in a specific time frame, so players can choose any character from the entire "Star Wars" universe. They can also blend together characters from the light and dark side. Rare characters are also found in the game, but they will be harder to unlock.

Players seek to build their squads in order to complete missions and battles. Given all the characters' unique skill sets, the player seeks to devise powerful strategies that will help the squad during RPG-style battles.

Missions will take place in different iconic locations, including Hoth, Tatooine and Corusant, among many others.

The game's adventure begins in the cantina, where there are several holotables, where combats take place. More holotables are unlocked as players progress in the game. Holotables pave the way for different challenges and activities.

Campaigns have also been tailored for the mobile gaming experience. Players can take part in battles that last for only one or two minutes, if they don't have much time. At the same time, they can also engage in deep sessions that can last for a couple of hours.

The game also features a PvP mode. Players will only go against other players who have a similar rank, based on the leaderboard.

So far, the game includes all six "Star Wars" movies and the television series, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." EA will be releasing regular updates to include new characters and locations over time.

"Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes" will be released during the holiday season and made available for both iOS and Android devices.
