After "Steven Universe" season 3 resumed last July 18 with a back-to-back episode, avid fans of the Cartoon Network series have been treated to a nightly "Steven Universe" experience on weeknights. However, there is no denying that many fans are anticipating the episode that would usher in a new gem in the series, Bismuth.

Earlier this month, Entertainment Weekly reported that "Steven Universe" would be introducing the purple-skinned and rainbow-haired gem Bismuth via an eponymous episode. Since then, curiosity of the avid fans of the show has been aroused as to what could be the story behind the forthcoming character.

By far, the only information known about Bismuth is that she fought along with her fellow Crystal Gems to save Earth more than 5,000 years ago. However, it has been learned that some avid viewers of the show have long anticipated her arrival in the series.

One theory about Bismuth is that she is Rose's fusion partner for the formation of Pink Diamond. According to Steven Universe Theories, it could be that the two split during the war and the Gem is now kept in Lion's mane eventually for Steven to discover.

The publication also believes that Bismuth was confused and was not fascinated with humans initially. Hence, she was split from Rose. However, as Rose wants Bismuth to see the beauty of Earthly life, specifically the humans, the former asked the latter to stay and left her at a corner to give her time to review her sentiments.

If this theory holds true, then, it is very likely that no one else but Steven who will rediscover Bismuth as he opens the gem.

Exciting as the theory may sound, it remains uncertain if it will really be the case. In the event that it is, then, "Steven Universe" will have another gem that is caring and understanding as Rose.
