'Street Fighter 5' rumors: Upcoming DLC to deliver Arcade Mode with daily challenges

(Facebook/Street Fighter)Capcom recently released a Halloween update for "Street Fighter 5."

Although Capcom has yet to confirm whether "Street Fighter 5" will have an Arcade Mode in its future downloadable content (DLC), the latest in the rumor mill is that the said mode will come with new challenges on a daily basis.

According to the latest reports, Capcom is planning to introduce a Challenge or Arcade Mode in the future "Street Fighter 5" DLCs as information on which has, allegedly, leaked on a NeoFighters forum. Reportedly, in the event that "Street Fighter 5" will come with a DLC that will make the game arcade-ready, the said DLC will provide daily challenges, and players can expect more than just the Story and Survival modes to conquer the challenges and bag the rewards that come with the win.

While it can't be denied that such news is a welcome to hardcore "Street Fighter" fans, it remains to be seen when it will arrive. Prior to the Tokyo Game Show last September, it was already rumored that Capcom was planning to unveil "Street Fighter 5" DLC at the said event. However, the event commenced and concluded without a mere mention of the said clamored-for-game mode.

As of this writing, there is no solid piece of information that can prove that "Street Fighter 5" will really have an Arcade Mode, although various reports claim that the studio is currently in the process of developing it via an upcoming DLC. However, without Capcom saying a word about it, everything has to be taken with a grain of salt at this point in time.

While the Arcade Mode is still up in the air, one thing is confirmed: Capcom has treated "Street Fighter 5" fans to some Halloween treats via its Halloween-themed DLC, which is still available for download. With this DLC, "Street Fighter 5" players have the option to garb their favorite characters in Premium Halloween costumes as they fight with one another. The DLC sets the game in an undeniably Halloween mode with its Russia stage adorned with various Halloween decors, such as jack-o'-lanterns and gravestones.

The Halloween-themed DLC was released last Oct. 11 and will continue to be available for download until Nov. 29.
