There is no denying that "Suits" ended the first half of its fifth season run with a cliffhanger. Mike Ross was just about to make good with the lies he built his career on and lead an honest life with his soon to be wife, Rachel. However, things didn't go according to plan and instead his secrets were revealed and he was promptly arrested.

Fans knew that it was inevitable that Mike would be exposed. However, they are at odds as to whether or not season five was the perfect time for the character to pay for his mistakes. Thankfully, Aaron Korshe, "Suits," showrunner, has since explained the thought process that went into the mid-season finale.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Korsh explained how it felt right for Mike to pay for his deceit before riding off into the sunset with Rachel.

"It felt like the right thing to do; you can only keep this thing under wraps for so long... Let's have him be discovered and push on through and figure out what happens after that."

He further detailed how the return of the show would see all characters, including Mike, coming to terms with the arrest and according to Korsh everyone would be affected.

"The last six are going to be a little bit more focused on Mike and what he's going through in the wake of being arrested. There's no doubt that will affect every single one of our six from top to bottom."

One detail that fans are dying to know is the identity of the supposed snitch. In the same sit down Korsh confirmed that he or she would soon be named.

"We're not going to find out in [episode] 511, but we will find out down the line,"

The latter half of "Suits" season five is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2016.
