'Suits' season 7 news: Renewal for another season belies cancellation rumors

(Facebook/Suits)"Suits" season 6 will premiere in winter and rumors about its cancellation have been put to rest with the show's confirmed renewal for season 7.

A season 7 renewal has been announced amid rumors that the second half of "Suits" season 6 is canceled.

Fans of the show were worried with the return date of "Suits" season 6 still unknown. The first half of the season was met with mixed reviews and talks about cancellations have come up. While no definite date has been set for the return yet, USA Network has officially renewed "Suits" for season 7, which will premiere in 2017. It has also been announced that the second half of season 6 will return early next year.

That being said, it is too early to tell what season 7 has in store. However, the creators have already revealed that it will focus on Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Donna's (Sarah Rafferty) relationship. Could this be a hint that something romantic will develop between the two? It has been a romance that many of the viewers have been looking forward to for many seasons.

In the meantime, the return of the second half of season 6 will see Mike (Patrick J. Adams) back at the firm, as a consultant. It may take a while before viewers will see him in action at the court room, but the midseason finale has left so many stories to explore.

The finale shocked the viewers with Jessica's (Gina Torres) decision to follow her heart. Despite a flourishing career, she has made known she will leave the firm in the name of love. She has decided to join Jeff Malone (D.B. Woodside) in Chicago.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, however, Torres revealed her goodbye is not forever. She said, "Don't count Jessica out on Suits, 'cause those boys are going to mess up and they're going to have to call me. I believe that. I don't know when, I don't know how, but that story's not done, 'cause everybody comes back."
