'Super Smash Bros. 4': DLC bundle offers gamers four new characters; Nintendo's poll ends October 3

Nintendo released the latest DLC bundle for "Super Smash Bros. 4" earlier this month, bringing with it several patches aimed at making game play smoother as well as introducing four new characters culled from various game franchises.

The latest update, which is currently available for download at the Nintendo Shop, offers gamers the chance to download and play as Lucas from "Mother 3," Mewtwo of the famed "Pokemon" franchise, Roy from "Fire Emblem" and the iconic Ryu from "Street Fighter."

The choice of characters were said to have been chosen by the Smash 4 community during the Fighter Ballot event last April. Nintendo came up with the poll and encouraged gamers to vote for the characters that they wanted to see in "Super Smash Bros 4"; the aforementioned four were the clear winners.

"Super Smash Bros." fans were pleasantly surprised when one of the characters included in the DLC Bundle was "Street Fighter's" very own Ryu. There is no doubt the martial artist would fit in this fighting video game as his renowned moves makes him a formidable opponent.

While the other characters are not as highly anticipated, they still have merit. "Fire Emblem's" Roy makes another appearance in the game. The erstwhile "Young Lion" has a new outfit and some serious flame-based offense. Lucas might come off as an adorable little boy, but anyone who has played "Mother 3" knows that his psychic abilities make him more than a match for any character. And who can forget "Pokemon's" Mewtwo, the dastardly villain who can demolish enemies with his Psystrike.

Nintendo has opened another poll for gamers to participate in. The company has launched The Smash Ballot and "Super Smash Bros 4" fans can take this opportunity to vote for characters that they want to see in the next DLC. Voting is open until Oct. 3 and participants can vote as often as they want to. Gamers can vote for multiple fighters and can even include non-Nintendo characters, as long as they are video game characters.
