'Supergirl' season 2 spoilers, plot: Will Supergirl visit Metropolis first?

(Facebook / Supergirl on The CW)Superman is coming to "Supergirl" season 2 and will be portrayed by actor Tyler Hoechlin.

Viewers of "Supergirl" have been waiting for her famous cousin Superman to appear on the show, and in season 2, actor Tyler Hoechlin was cast to play the role. How he enters the scene and fits the show is one of the most-speculated events in the upcoming season.

Pictures of how Hoechlin looks like as the Man of Steel have been officially released and many other pictures of the filming have been making the rounds. Hoechlin has been seen dressed both as the superhero Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent.

In the first season of "Supergirl," it was implied that Superman got in touch with his cousin through phone and email. In the penultimate episode, he arrived to help her only to be affected by The Myriad. While Superman is expected to arrive in National City where Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) resides, photos suggest Supergirl would have to visit his place first.

Pop Goes The World shared photos on Twitter with the caption, "#Supergirl filming at George Wainburn Park. Looks like we are in #Metropolis." The post was accompanied by photos containing ambulance vehicles with the label "Metropolis Medical Response," another van labeled "Metropolis WEBD Channel 11," and another ambulance labeled "Metropolis Hospital Ambulance."

As to how Superman will be featured, executive producer Sarah Schechter said that Kara's experience as an alien losing everything at 13 and living in a different planet will be further explored. Clark came to Earth when he was a baby and their journey to getting to know each other will "give us a different window into Kara and frankly, into Clark."

Schechter further elaborated that viewers will see a Superman who has a Supergirl in his life and said, "I think it's fun to see both of them."

"Supergirl" season 2 will be viewed on The CW network and will premiere on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m.
