Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) will soon get a visit from her super cousin, Superman. Tyler Hoechlin will return for another episode as Superman in "Supergirl" season 2.
"Supergirl" season 2 is nearing its end, and as the show's finale gets closer, "Supergirl" might conclude its season with a bang as she gets a new visitor. According to E! Online, Hoechlin will reprise his role as Superman.
To recall, "Supergirl" season 2 premiered featuring Heochlin's Superman. He flew to the National City knowing that Supergirl needed his help with fixing the LexCorp spacecraft. After that, he left Supergirl and went back to Metropolis since he believes that she can handle the National City on her own.
Now, he is set to return for the show's finale, but what will make Supergirl call her cousin? Will National City face an even bigger crisis?
There are no words yet as to what will "Supergirl" season 2's story be like. Superman's role in the show's finale has not been revealed as well, but speculations suggest that "Supergirl" season 2 might be stacking up the deck to Superman's death. One of the biggest storyline in DC's comics is "The Death of Superman."
In the comics, Superman engaged in a battle with Doomsday, and they both died from their wounds. In the comics, it was later revealed that Superman just went into a deep hibernation. Eradicator later brought him to the fortress of the solitude. He was then brought back to life by Kryptonian technology where the sun's rays were focused into his body.
Then again, that is just a speculation. Fans will found out what is next for Superman as "Supergirl" season 2's finale airs on May 22.
In the meantime, just enjoy the show's remaining episodes. "Supergirl" will return on Monday, April 24, at 8 p.m. EDT for its "Ace Reporter" episode.
