'Supernatural' season 11 spoilers: Amara meets her match in finale episode 23

(Facebook/Supernatural)Dean is God's final weapon to defeat Amara in the upcoming season finale of "Supernatural."

It is going to be a showdown between Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Amara (Emily Swallow) in the final battle to defeat the Darkness in the season finale of "Supernatural."

After getting his behind kicked by Amara's awesome force last episode, God (guest star Rob Benedict) is back to get even with his sister. Done with using kid gloves in dealing with her, the creator is hatching a new strategy to stop her from destroying the universe. His plan revolves around the Winchester brothers, particularly Dean.

In the promo, the siblings think that God's tactic involves the creation of a bomb made from all the souls they will collect. Rowena (Ruth Connell), however, will open their eyes to the truth.

According to the witch, God is indeed creating a bomb strong enough to take out his sister. Instead of Dean being the carrier who will deliver the weapon to Amara, Rowena tells him that he is the bomb. In the teaser, he and Amara face off in what looks like her lair. Amara's face is concerned, perhaps deliberating why Dean is there in the first place. Her expression suggests she knows exactly what her brother is planning and her heart is breaking over it. Will Dean be Amara's destruction?

In the last episode, God did not want to kill his sister. He planned to imprison her for all eternity, safe but unable to cause harm to his creations. At first, she was willing to die in the creator's hands, but the prospect of being held captive again was so unpalatable to her. God's army, which was composed of the angels, demons and witches, were no match for her as their efforts fell short of finishing the job. Amara eventually got the better of God and He was knocked out.

"Supernatural's" season 11 finale airs Wednesday, May 25 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
