'Supernatural' season 12 spoilers, premiere date: Men of Letters is back

(Warner Bros.)A frenemy from the past rises to haunt the Winchester brothers on the 12th season of "Supernatural"

The Men of Letters, an organization where generation of Winchesters have been a part of, is still in operation and it looks like their Big Boss is not happy with Sam and Dean.

Men of Letters was introduced in previous seasons of "Supernatural" but has been believed to no longer exist. Apparently, the organization still lives in other parts of the world and has been watching the Winchester brothers.  After sending one of its members, Lady Antonia Bevell, to go after the Winchesters, a cliff-hanging gunshot will keep fans of the show on their feet until season 12 to know whether Sam is dead or captured. It remains to be seen as well if the Men of Letters is aware that Dean is still alive and that the Winchester brothers' mother has been resurrected.

The recently concluded 11th season of "Supernatural" was a great way to cap the previous seasons, wherein angels and consequently an alternative world of heaven and hell were introduced. In a comedic yet effective way, the show was able to tell the story of God's love for his creations and was also able to emphasize the importance of family.

The reunion between God and his elder sister, Amara, after centuries of being at odds with each other was sweet, but as they take some time to catch up with each other, Sam and Dean are faced with a new enemy. While some think any other villains after the Darkness would seem lame, viewers should remember that free will has been emphasized all throughout the season.

Billy Reaper has warned the brothers that there is no more resurrection left for both of them, and while death in one of the Winchesters has been teased many times during season 11, Sam could have finally reached his end. Will God interfere and ask Billy to bring him back? Or will the brother have to fight alongside each other from different dimensions?

"Supernatural" season 12 will return to The CW network in fall.
