Although the alleged Surface Phone failed to make an appearance at the Microsoft event last Oct. 26, it doesn't mean that the device is not in existence at all. If rumors are to be believed, the device may find its way to market shelves in early 2017.

Undeniably, many Microsoft fans were disappointed that the Surface Phone was a no-show at Microsoft's event last week, where the brand's first-ever all-in-one PC, the Surface Studio, was unveiled, along with the Surface Book i7 and the Surface Dial. While it's true that some people now think that the Surface Phone could just be a rumor, and the device is really not in existence because of its non-appearance at the event, the latest in the rumor mill is that the alleged device may be unveiled in January next yea, along with the Surface Book 2 and the Surface Pro 5.

Those who have been awaiting the arrival of the Surface Phone are just not giving up hope on the existence of the phone. After all, according to her now deleted tweet, Microsoft director for engineering Laura Butler said last September that "The Surface Phone is not NOT confirmed." While some people think that the tweet is nothing more than a typographical error, many believe otherwise as the second "not" was written in all caps, which means it was intentional. And, as double negative means affirmative, it means that the Surface Phone is really in Microsoft's pipeline. Hence, it's possible for the device to be unveiled in January next year.

As many people believe in the existence of the Surface Phone, the question for the many now is when it will be released. While there is no questioning that January 2017 as an unveiling date for the device is exciting, unfortunately, nothing is confirmed at this point in time and everything is just a speculation again.
