Surface Pro 4 & Surface Book news: users still having battery issues

Even as reviewers and users have been praising the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book, it is clear that these two devices are having a lot of issues with their batteries and no fix is in sight. However, an end could be around the corner with Microsoft stating that it is working on resolving the issues that users are facing.

Reporting on the continued battery issue on the Surface lineup, which includes that Surface Pro 4 and the all new Surface Book, Android Origin states that going by the recent statement issued by Microsoft, the problem could be resolved soon and users will be able to reap the benefits. However, there are no details about what exactly would be included in the solution that is applied to fix the problem.

As for the timetable for the release of the fix to the battery issues, there are indications that it would arriving within the next week or a few days. Meanwhile, Microsoft acknowledged that battery issues still existed on its Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book models when it released a firmware update for them late last month. At that time, the software major stated that they were working to fix the problem with the battery issue as soon as possible and updates would be rolled out once they were complete. As for the update last month, it helped resolve other issues with the hybrids, which extended from battery charging to Bluetooth performance and thermal tuning.

The current battery issues on the Surface lineup have existed for quite some time and they cause devices to keep draining power even when they are idle or closed. This means that users can lose up to 20 percent of battery life when the devices are dormant and additionally, there are reports that such devices see an abnormal spike in temperature. If the battery issues on the Surface lineup are fixed, it is likely that sales will pick up as many people list this particular problem as a deal breaker.
