While it remains uncertain whether the Surface Pro 5 will really be unveiled at Microsoft's event on Oct. 26, it is already said that the device has an upper hand over its rival, the Microsoft Pro, whose latest version is also slated for release on Oct. 27.

The remaining week of October 2016, without question, will be a showdown of force between two technology giants as both Microsoft and Apple are coming up with their respective events where they are expected to unveil some of their latest products. While it is said that Microsoft's event will be a venue for the company to unveil its Windows update and the alleged all-in-one Surface PC, it is also suspected that its highly anticipated tablet, the Surface Pro 5, will be featured there.

However, even before the Surface Pro 5 and the MacBook Pro 2016 arrive in the market, there are already rumors claiming that the upcoming Microsoft device has already won over its soon-to-be-released rival for various reasons.

Reportedly, the upcoming Surface Pro 5 will boast of a 4K display, although it is also likely for the device to come in a 2K display variant. The upcoming device is also expected to pack the latest Intel chipset, the Intel Kaby Lake processor, which will be matched with the device's 16 GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, while it's true that the current Surface Pro already comes with a Surface Pen, it is also rumored that the upcoming Surface Pro 5 will come with an upgraded Surface Pen that automatically charges when it magnetically attaches to the device.

However, despite some people pitting the Surface Pro 5 against the MacBook Pro 2016, tech pundits believe that MacBook Pro's real competitor is Microsoft's Surface Book, whose next version may also debut on Oct. 26, as after all, both devices are laptops. The Surface Pro 5, on the other hand, is a tablet-laptop hybrid and is considered as more of the competitor of Apple's iPad.
