(Microsoft Official)Shown in the picture is the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. According to rumors, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be launched next month.

While Microsoft has been mum on its Surface Pro 5, those who have been anticipating the arrival of the laptop and tablet hybrid have been served with a lot of rumors as to what the device may offer. Despite varying claims as to what specs and features the Surface Pro 5 will come with, sources agree that the upcoming device will be a threat to Apple's iPad.

Microsoft has yet to confirm reports that it is, indeed, releasing a Surface Pro 5, although various sources have claimed that it's just a matter of days before the device to be finally unveiled. This early, though, there are already various speculations on what the Surface Pro 5 will boast of.

Among the many rumored specs and features associated with the Surface Pro 5, there is no denying that the most persistent hearsay is the one claiming that it will pack the Intel Kaby Lake processor. In fact, it is even alleged that the reason why the Surface Pro 5 will not arrive this year is that Microsoft waited for the availability of the said chipset, which was rumored to have started shipping only a couple of months ago.

In the event that the Surface Pro 5 will really pack the Intel Kaby Lake processor, then, the gadget can be expected to have longer battery life.

Apart from the Intel Kaby Lake processor, it is also alleged that the device will come with cooling technology that is also expected to improve the overall performance of the Surface Pro 5.

There are also claims that the Surface Pro 5 will come in three variants based on its screen size: 21, 24, and 27-inch screens, which all have the capacity to display 4K resolution.

Rumors claiming that Microsoft is holding an event on Oct. 26 to unveil its Surface products, such as the Surface Phone and the Surface Pro 5, are just as loud as the rumors saying that it will come with the Intel Kaby Lake processor. Should this be the case, those who have long anticipated the arrival of the device can finally confirm whether the rumored specs and features of the Surface Pro 5 are true or otherwise.
