'The 100' season 3 spoilers: No Bellamy-Clarke-Lexa love triangle in new season; more A.I. expected

"The 100" fans have been getting plenty of love recently, with updates for season three coming straight from the showrunners and even new costumes being unveiled. This time out, they hear word about a love triangle — or the impossibility of it, at least for season three.

Fans have been hinting to the producers of the show about wanting to see a love triangle between Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley), Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor), and Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey). With fans pretty much split shipping between Clexa (Clarke-Lexa) and Bellarke (Bellamy-Clarke) and clamouring to see what happens if this triangle was explored, it would have been easy for the showrunners to cave in. But supervising producer and co-writer Aaron Ginsburg insists that they cannot just go along with fan reactions and that they have a wonderful story to tell that hopefully fans can find it in them to support.

"We do. And we absolutely feel the same chemistry between certain pairs of actors. That's real — if you feel it, we feel it, too. But that said, we have a story we want to tell with these characters. And we spend hours and hours and hours every week debating and discussing and brainstorming to find the most incredible way to tell our story. We don't make decisions based on what fans might want (or don't want) (or think they want). We make decisions on what is best for the story... On what the characters would really do when faced with these situations," Ginsburg tells NYCastings.

He adds that if fans do hop onto the story that the producers want to tell, they will not be disappointed.

Talking more about the upcoming season, the producer also spilled the beans a bit on how AIs are going to factor in season three. He admits that the idea of introducing the female A.L.I.E. came late into the conceptualisation of season two. And with season three's development taking its roots, he assures that fans will see more A.I., adding that these "fit perfectly" into the show and will definitely have a mind-blowing story to tell.

"The 100" season three is yet to pin a premiere date. Stay tuned for more updates.
