Viewers of the show have been waiting for a breakdown from Octavia since the brutal death of Lincoln. However, killing Pike during season 3's finale was unexpected. Now that she has had her first experience at brutal killing, her character is set to go the darker path.

Actress Marie Avgeropoulos who plays Octavia in the series, was present during The CW Upfronts. There, she spoke to Just Jared and said, "Next season, you're going to see Octavia take a lot of really dark turns and uncover some really nasty layers. That will be exciting for me as an actress. She's always evolving and changing."

Octavia was one of "The 100" prisoners who was sent to Earth. She is the daughter of Aurora and the younger sister of Bellamy. She was imprisoned for the being a second child, and prior to getting caught, she lived a relatively happy childhood. She remained optimistic most of the show but slowly showed her temper as the story progressed. However, season 3 has slowly changed her outlook in life.

The actress also talked about the death of her character's lover, Lincoln. She revealed that aside from their characters being lovers on the show, she is also friends with actor Ricky Whittle. She revealed, "Of course, myself as an actress I was so sad to see Ricky Whittle go. He's a wonderful man and we have a great friendship. That romance was so deserved. They made so many epic sacrifices for one another."

Avgeropoulos compared Octavia and Lincoln's situation to the iconic lovers Romeo and Juliet. She said, "It was horrible and beautiful at the same time. That's all they kept doing, is sacrificing their lives for one another. That's exactly how the story ended and I feel like that chapter in a respectful way in terms of romance."

"The 100" is not on the list of The CW network shows that will premiere in fall. There is no official announcement yet, but season 4 is widely speculated to air during the first quarter of 2017.
