The next episode of 'The Big Bang Theory' season 8 will be challenging for Penny and Leonard as they face money issues, according to recent spoiler reports.

The pair that got engaged last season will have to face conflicts arising from financial disagreements, which is expected to genuinely test their level of compatibility.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode reads that the couple will seek guidance from Bernadette and Wolowitz.

The show's executive producer, Steve Molaro, revealed in an interview that Leonard and Penny are just like any other couple: hurdling life's battles while trying to be happy.

Molaro added that this season could prove to be extra perplexing for Penny who is trying to make her mark in a new career.

Leonard, on the other hand, already has an established occupation for quite awhile now.

"She's really focused on this new career. I don't think they're in a rush. They're happy, they're engaged and, like a lot of people, they may be engaged for a while. But it does raise issue like money, combining money in the future and who has credit card debt and what that all means," Molaro said in the interview with Hollywood Reporter.

"Those kind of issues start to come up, which I find more interesting than the actual wedding planning," added Molaro.

Meanwhile, Sheldon will have to face consequences and hurdles on his quest on going underground to study. Raj explains that he has to go to the toilet using a bucket, and Sheldon finds this unsettling.
