The finale of 'The Blacklist' Season 1 has left fans wondering about the direction that Season 2 will go, and a cast member and the show's creator sheds light on the mysteries.

One major cliffhanger from the Season 1 finale is the question that all The Blacklist fans want to clear: is Raymond Reddington Elizabeth Keen's father? Could this be the reason why Red insisted that he only wanted to work for the FBI if teamed up with the rookie profiler?

Throughout Season 1, Red has eliminated many terrorists that deemed dangerous to society, and his tandem with Keen proves that they have a valuable relationship together. If Season 2 reveals Red and Elizabeth's paternal relationship, then the story lines would most likely be affected in favor of this new found discovery.

Theories aside, the show's creator, Jon Bokenkamp, revealed details on how Season 2 will play out. Bokenkamp spoke about the possibility of Red being Liz's father, and even the suggestion that Liz's dad is dead.

"What I do not believe is that Red is lying to Liz. The things he's told her about her father he believes to be true and thus are true, but that doesn't necessarily mean those in the writers' room believe them to be true," explains Bokenkamp.

Another story line explored in his interview with Buzz Sugar is Tom and Liz's marriage. Fans are wondering if Tom is still alive and if he will come back to be with Liz again. Bokenkamp suggested that the show's writers are still trying to figure out if there is a need for Tom's return.

" [Tom] will or may or could even weave into her life, because it does feel like such a conclusion that this man entered her life, had a role to play, and he's now gone," says Bokenkamp in the interview.
